Food technological institutes,
placing their expertise
at the service of companies

Food Technological Institutes (ITAI - Instituts techniques agro-industriels) are technological research organisations providing technical support, expertise, training and information for companies.

In partnership with their customers, and in order to provide the most suitable solutions for their needs, ITAIs closely combine the analysis of needs, research and development and the ability to transmit relevant expertise.

TAILOR-MADE SERVICES FOR CONTROLLING QUALITY AND COMPETITIVENESS

ITAIs are responsive to industrial needs and support companies - especially SMEs - in every aspect of their development. They offer a full range of services: from the development of tailor-made products and services to the manufacture of  industrial pre-production products, from analytical services to consulting and technical support missions (Quality Assurance, risk analysis, environment, production management, etc.), and from survey to inter and intra-company training courses.

MULTI-DISCIPLINARY SPECIALIST TEAMS AND TECHNICAL FACILITIES

Consisting of genuine professionals whose expertise is regularly updated through their participation in national and European research projects, these teams offer their experience and general or specialist resources (microbiological, physico-chemical analysis and sensory evaluation laboratories, EEC-approved processing plants, technology halls with pilot equipment and information centres).

ACCREDITED ACTIVITIES

The French Ministry responsible for Food has officially recognised the missions of these centres by granting the status of Food Technological Institutes (Institut technique agro-industriel) (Decree of 15 September 2006) to 15 ITAIs. The majority of them have been accredited for their excellence (BPL, Cofrac, Crédit d’impôt recherche (Research Tax Credit), CRT, ISO, SRC, etc.).
