TECHNOLOGY RISK MANAGEMENT,
A PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY

2019

Text in French

The food industry is one of the sectors that is most affected by critical accidents such as explosions, fires, and pollution spillages. These accidents have major human, material, financial, or legal consequences, and can therefore jeopardise the company’s future. The food industry must work more on these issues. Greater in-house risk management expertise is now necessary.
The partners of the Actia Écoval Joint Technological Network have therefore decided to produce a guide to help companies better manage industrial risks.
A technical database on technological risks more specifically related to this sector makes it possible to determine the preventive and protective measures to implement. This guide features examples of real accidents in the form of sheets covering the origins of the accidents, their analysis, and defining the preventive and corrective actions that must be implemented. The guide then recommends methodological options for the implementation of a safety management system.
