Objectives

The "Packaging, processing, food" ACTIA PROPACK FOOD RMT (2014-2018) brings together scientific and technical experts to work on an integrated approach to the relationship between packaging, processes, and food, which are vital to the management of food safety and the quality of processed food products.

This RMT started its five-year programme in January 2014. It follows on from the Actia ProPack Food RMT accredited for the 2008-2013 period.

Actions

In close connection with professional bodies, competitive clusters, and health protection bodies, the RMT meets the needs of food and packaging manufacturers in terms of research & development, training, and the transfer of research results on the four following themes:
Packaging and chemical risks
Functional packaging
Packaging and the environment
Packaging and ease of use

As well as:
Continuing to enrich the  ProPack Food Training website, giving access to practical industrial guides, case studies, and mini-lessons combined with quizzes.

Organising open days on the theme "packaging, a source of innovation", and the European symposium Mat-bim (Material/Bioproduct Interaction).
